Feature Friday- Bax Cat & Co

Hello everyone,

Hope that you all had a good week and are looking forwards to the Easter break :). Is anyone doing anything nice for Easter?

As today is Friday it is time for another Feature Friday. This week is very a special Feature Friday as I am featuring one of my favourite sellers on Etsy, a lady called Kelly. Her shop is fab and we regularly tweet to each other. She is a really lovely lady and everything a Etsy seller should be :). I also have a sneaky feeling that it is her birthday tomorrow so hopefully this feature will be a nice birthday surprise!!
Happy birthday Kelly :).

Cat lovers you are in for a treat with this Feature Friday article.......

Kelly is from Connecticut and works with her team to produce the best cat toys around.....her team being three beautiful cats called Girlie Pants (Girlie), Zazu and Mr Miyagi. She says ' our feline team happily tests out sample product ideas before it is made for the shop, to ensure cat-isfaction.' !! She runs an Etsy shop called Bax Cat and Co which you can visit if you click this link HERE! Her shop is named after her cat called Baxter a very beautiful black and white cat :).

If your cat is a stylish, fashion conscious kind of cat who won't just play with any old toy this is the shop for you! Kelly makes beautiful cat toys out of funky, stylish materials so your kittys can be the coolest cats around! Here are my favourite items from her shop......

Kelly has the most photogenic models around!!! Modeled by Mr Miyagi.  Her cat bandana ensures that you have the coolest cat around!

I also couldn't resist featuring this union jack cat mat!

If you are a cat lover with a stylish cat please be sure to check our Kelly's shop. She regularly posts new designs often with a theme for different seasons or events such as a range for Halloween, St Paddy's day and Spring. All her items also come beautifully wrapped :) Click here to view Kelly's shop
Happy birthday Kelly, hope that you have a wonderful day and fantastic Easter.

Beautiful vintage advert - Vintage slips

Hello everyone,

Trying to blog a little more regularly as I would love to see my blog grow and become more popular and blogging is something I really enjoy doing. I have had a busy few weeks buying more items for the craft and vintage fairs which I have coming up and also making more items for my shop and also for my stall. It has been super busy so I am looking forwards to Easter which I can relax a little.

At the moment I am really into vintage fashion and looking at different clothing which was worn in the past so today I thought I would share with you this beautiful vintage advertisement for a ladies slip. The ad is rather beautiful and doesn't she look so glamorous even in just a slip!?!

Hoping to make posting lovely old vintage photographs, advertisements etc a more regular feature on my blog so please visit back soon to see more :)

Dreaming of the summer-- Feature Friday by The Dorothy Days

Hello everyone :) !

Today is Friday so time for Feature Friday but this week I thought I would do something a little different. Instead of having a feature on one Etsy shop I thought this week I would feature 1 item from lots of different shops that I love :). We have been getting some really cold weather here in the U.K (snow and sleet) so I thought I would do a summer theme to cheer us all up and make us think of the lovely summer months! As always I invite my blog viewers to have a look around the shops. This is a fantastic way to support independent businesses and to buy something that is unique and a bit special :).

First up we have this gorgeous vintage blouse from the shop Telafiera which is run by Vivian from California

This would look so cute for the summer to wear casually like it is show above or you could also dress it up by wearing with a skirt and some jewellery. I love it!!

I also found these lovely set of three Coca cola trays. These would be lovely for serving drinks on for a  summer BBQ and are being sold by Jenn

I adore cats eye glasses and here are a pair of vintage ones in perfect condition ....what isn't there to love?! They are being sold by Sadie from SweetHavenn.

My summer is always filled with BBQs, bike rides and picnics in the countryside so these vintage style gift tags being sold by Velowoman really made me think of lazy summer days.

This handmade paper bowl out of recycled paper is beautiful. Take a look at it in OkiFolki's shop.

Hope that you all enjoyed this feature :)

Have a wonderful weekend

Super exciting news!

Hello everyone :),

Super exciting news for you all. My blog has been nominated for the little blog awards which is run by Dorset Cereals. Dorset Cereals is a local company which make the yummiest cereals ever. On their website they are asking people to vote for their favourite blog out of the nominations and the best blog will win the title of winner of the blog awards, a little egg cup and some of their delicious cereal.

Would be wonderful to win and a HUGE deal for me and my blog. It would really help me to get The Dorothy Days known about and would help to gain publicity for my little business.

If anyone could spare a few moments to vote I would really really really appreciate it :). To vote you just have to click this link http://www.dorsetcereals.co.uk/fun-stuff/little-blog-awards/nomination/7523 and press to vote or you can click the icon over there --------> which I have put up. The winner will be announced at the end of March and even if I don't win this will be a great way for my blog to gain some more publicity. Each time I get a vote I appear higher up in the leader board so other people will be able to see my blog. For voting you also get entered into a free prize draw to win some cereal for yourself!

Thanks so much in advance to anyone who does vote. I will be so grateful

Happy Mothers Day

Hello everyone

Happy Mothers Day to all of my followers in the U.K. Is anyone treating their mother to anything nice today? I bought a card for my mum at the makers boutique in Brighton. It was handmade by a local artist and has beautiful birds on it. I know that she will really like it. I am visiting her on Mothers Day and going to spoil her and have a good catch up. Have any mothers reading this been treated today? Any breakfast in beds?? cups of tea? flowers? chocolates?! Let me know in the comments section below, would love to know how you are all celebrating. I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Little update!

Hello everyone :)

Can't believe it is March already.....time has just flown by! So excited about Spring. The flowers are blooming and there are days where the weather is much milder and the sun shines! Rather exciting. I have been visiting London quite regularly which has been wonderful, I love being over there for a few days and have been visiting lots of exhibitions and art galleries. I went to the V&A last week and to the National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery all of which were fantastic. This weekend I also went to the Makers Boutique in Brighton which was a craft fair for local sellers with lots of lovely jewellery, handmade cards, ceramics, art etc. If you haven't been already and live in the Brighton area it is really worth going to. There were some beautiful stalls and lots of very talented people. They even have a little tea room at the back which I stopped at with my friends and had some tea and cake!

My shop has been doing well and I have had quite a lot of orders recently (thanks so much to everyone who has ordered from me) so have been busy making new items for my shop, packaging up orders and taking lots of trips to the post office!! I am also planning on doing some craft fairs during the summer months. I managed to hit my target of getting 100 items listed which gave me a huge sense of achievement. My next goal is to reach 100 sales :). I am currently on 92 sales so am nearly there, going to be a enormous milestone for me and my shop so I am really excited. Thank you everyone who has been buying for me and supporting my little business.
