Item of the Week- Handmade Christmas Earrings

Hello everyone,

I hope that you are having a wonderful week so far. I have been really busy this end as I am preparing for a Christmas vintage market in Bath's Green Park station. If anyone is around on Sunday 25th please be sure to come, there are lots of fantastic stalls!!

I am feeling rather Christmasy this week (I know I know....ALREADY!!) so my Item of the Week this week is Christmas themed.

The item of the week for this week is my beautiful Christmas star earrings. These earrings are really festive and fun. They are avaliable in different colours (green, blue and yellow ) and make wonderful Christmas gifts especially for Christmas stockings as they are priced at just £3! I know that Christmas can be a stressful time with lots going on so to save you time I have also gift wrapped them for free and they come in a beautiful white organza gift bag (the white is very Christmasy with the red and it makes the gift look really smart)

Please take a look!

I also have really exciting news to announce later so please check back for the announcement :) !

Randy Pausch- Really achieving your childhood dreams

Hi everyone,

Hope you had a good weekend, what did you all get up to ?

My quote of the week for this week is a lovely quote by Randy Pausch. Randy was a American professor who lectured at CMU in Pittsburgh he developed terminal cancer and was given just 3-6 months of good health left. He held a lecture called "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams"in which he spoke about his childhood dreams, enabling the dreams of others and lessons he had learnt that could help others achieve their dreams and enable the dreams of others. The lecture is upbeat and inspirational. It went on to recieve much press attention. This is a quote from his lecture.....

If anyone is interested in watching the lecture (I highly reccommend that you do) you can watch it below :) .

Wordless Wednesday- Winter in the English countryside

On Wednesdays all over the internet, bloggers post a photograph with no words to explain it on their blog. Hence the ‘wordless’ title. The idea is that the photo itself says so much that it doesn’t need any description.

Inspirational quote of the week - Wayne Gretzky

Hello everyone :) ,

Happy Monday!!! Feels very strange here in England as it is so dark and cold and there is a proper wintery chill in the air. I am starting to get really excited about Christmas now. The light have been going up in town ready to be switched on for December and I am crafting like crazy at the moment so I can be prepared for my Christmas craft fairs which are coming up and also have enough stock in my shop for the Christmas rush. My blog has had loads of views from Russia recently so a big hello to all my Russian followers and readers :). I have also had a lot of views in my shop from Russia and so I have decided to try and make it easier for my Russian shoppers and added Russia to the shipping locations at the bottom of some of my items. I am always happy to ship worldwide but not all of my items have all the locations I ship to listed (please contact me for a quote). So far all my earrings now have a shipping price to Russia to make it easier for my Russian shoppers :) hope this helps. I will hopefully add shipping to Russia on all my tea cups as well but please contact me in the meantime for quote :)

Quote of the week for this week I was really pleased to stumble across and I thought it was a really great and inspiring quote. It is by Wayne Gretzky who was a Canadian ice hockey player and one of the greatest players ever.

His quote is both true for sport and for life in general. I hope this quote inspires you all this week :)

" You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take."

The Dorothy Days' Feature Friday- Tabbys Vintage Shop

Hello everyone :) ,

First of all, before I start this week's Feature Friday. I just wanted to let you all know that I am thinking of all of you who are reading this from places affected by Hurricane Sandy. I have been watching on the news from here in England and have been really shocked by some of the images I have seen. Thinking of you all.

This week for Feature Friday I am featuring Tina from ....

Tina is from Wisconsin, United States and has been running her Etsy shop for almost a year. The shop is named after Tina's cat Tabby who she said really appreciated a good vintage find!! Tina opened her shop as something to pass the time while being a stay at home mum (mom for my American followers!) She is now a single mum and hopes that her love of vintage can turn from a passion into something that will also pay the bills. Her shop specialises in vintage clothing and accessories including vintage jewellery, scarves and hats. She also stocks lots of difficult to find plus size vintage clothing.

I asked Tina to pick some of her favourite items from her shop at the moment and this is what she picked.....

This incredible 1960's danville loungewear made of quilted fabric. Tina says.... "how can you look at this and not feel happy? It screams "please wear me for a day out, I'm not just lounging" !! "
I couldn't agree more.....I think it is fabulous and I love the paisley motifs.

The second item that Tina chose was this amazing black and white dress with polka dots. Tina explained how this dress is rather special as was handmade and has a label inside the dress saying "especially for you by Mom".....how lovely is that? This little dress must have been made with so much love and thought :)

Please be sure to have a look at Tina's shop by clicking the link HERE ! Her shop is well worth a browse and is a treasure trove of beautiful items.

Hope that you enjoyed this week's Feature Friday :)
