A little preview to what I have been working on...

Hey everyone,

I thought you would like a little preview of what I have been making this week. I have managed to get hold of some beautiful vintage paper in a light blue colour with edges that make it almost look handmade together with matching envelopes. They really is lovely :)! Today I have been sat out in the sunshine upcycling them with stamps and tying them in cute little bundles with twine to make letter writing sets. Here is one of them...

Best wishes,

Feature Thursday- Vivid

Hi everyone,
Wow this week has gone quickly!! Have had a great week but also a very hectic one. One of my tea cups was featured by Etsy on their newsletter which gets sent around called Etsy Find. The newsletter has a huge following as it is the official Etsy newsletter and so my views for one little tea cup shot up to over 1000 in just one day!!! Spent the afternoon dancing around my flat with a huge grin on my face and I still can't quite believe it is real and it has made my week. Thank you to everyone who bought something this week and to everyone who took a look in my shop and favourited things :). Please click here to take a look at the newsletter that my little cup was featured in.

Today is feature Thursday and I have such a beautiful shop to feature. I am really excited to share with you this week Vivid, an Etsy shop run by a creative duo from Scotland. Here is the interview I had with them....

Please tell me a little bit about Vivid and how you got started?

Vivid are a design couple who live in Edinburgh, Scotland. We met while we were working in an advertising agency but we found we just didn't fit the mold there as we were a little bit 'too different'. We started making stuff together a couple of years ago to fill the gaps for things we needed in our lives but could never quite get our hands on. It's only been in the past year or so that we've started taking it more seriously with our blog and shop because it turns out we're not the only people who like the things that we do!

Vivid have a very unique look, please can you tell me about what your create and your style?
We class what we do as creating curiosities as our products are all about showing off your hipster geek and kicking it old school. We would rather spend our spare time writing letters than updating our status on Facebook so making pencils and stationery with a nerdy twist came naturally. We love being different and standing out from the crowd and think that it is really important to sprinkle your uniqueness throughout your daily life. It's the little things that make us smile and getting the chance to work on that daily has got to be the best job in the word!

What is your inspiration for your shop and products?
We are big fans of anything kitsch and vintage so use that for inspiration. A lot of our work is based on double entendres which comes from getting the banter with our friends so we would have to include them too!

Why should people take a look at your shop?
Unlike many Etsy shops we sell a wide variety of treasures. We sell our own illustrations and photographs, engraved pencils and note pads, cards and badges, lunch bags and tote bags and our range is still growing. Many of our works have stories behind them which we like share in our listings to give people a glimpse into our little world.

Tell us something unique and quirky about yourselves?
No one knows who we are yet but it is something we are planning to share in the near future. Being represented by a double headed piggy bank seems to distress some people :S hee hee!

Where can people find you?

Visit our blog at www.vividplease.me
Find us on twitter twitter.com/#!/VividPlease
And visit our shop at www.etsy.com/shop/Vividplease?ref=si_shop

I hope that everyone has enjoyed the feature Thursday this week.

Oh how lovely living in the country....

I am lucky enough to live in a place surrounded by the beautiful English countryside and today was the perfect day for a walk! It is absolutely beautiful today with blue skies and sunshine. This is one of my favourite places to take Boo, my dog, and her tail wouldn't stop wagging!!!
Here are some photos I took from my walk to share with you all....Enjoy!

The rolling hills of the English countryside and heading towards a little farm.
Some cows got very curious and what was going on!
What a beautiful view!
Thanks for taking a look. Tomorrow is Feature Thursday so please be sure to take a look as I have a fantastic shop to feature this week.

The first blush of Spring

The weather is getting warmer and it is feeling more and more like summer here in England. Skies are blue, daffodils have bloomed, the grass is lush and there is little sign of the weather that the English so love to moan about and that we are so famous for!!! Out with the winter wardrobe and in with summer dresses... (I shall pretend to ignore the fact I still have to wear a cardigan with every outfit as there still is a breeze!). Clocks are changing at the end of this week signalling that summer is nearly here and people, mainly me ,are pretending summer has already arrived and it is much warmer than it actually is!Here is a lovely treasury by Helen which features my spring flower earrings and reminds me of today

English Roses

One of my favourite things about the summer time are the beautiful roses. I live in the countryside so I am fortunate to have a garden which has lots of different roses. When they come into bloom the garden smells beautiful and also looks so lovely. There is also a rose garden in a near by manor house which is open to the public in the summer months. It is absolutely beautiful and I could spend all day there reading and relaxing among the roses. Summer is a little while off so here are a selection of English roses from my shop.

Feature Thursday- Anita from ecoPaperie

There is nothing quite like receiving a hand written letter through the post. It has become so rare these day when it's so easy just to send an email or facebook message. Whenever I receive a proper handwritten letter from my family, friends or my partner it always seems really special especially as there is that little bit more effort put into it. I think our generation miss out on what they had in Granny Dorothy's era, beautiful handwritten notes that they could keep and treasure forever.

This week's feature is Anita, a lady from Atlanta, Georgia who shares the same views about how special and lovely it is to receive a handwritten letter. She bought her first ever stationary set in 2nd grade still has it 27 years later!! She makes beautiful handmade stationary from recycled, repurposed and upcycled papers in all sorts of styles from vintage to funky. Here are a few of my favourite sets from her shop ecoPaperie

Here is a set of four handmade cards by Anita. They come wrapped like this so you can also give them as a gift.

This set is really sweet and great for sending to grown up friends who you haven't seen for a while

One of the more funky cards in here collection, such lovely colours.

Please take a look at Anita's store, she has such lovely stationary and surprise someone you love by sending them a little note!

Have a wonderful day

Rose Gold

Hi everyone!

I have been included in this lovely treasury today called 'Rose Gold' which was chosen by a lady living in Los Angeles. The pieces complement each other beautifully and I love the theme so I thought I would share. It includes my newly listed english rose tea cup and saucer.

Hope all of you in England are enjoying the weather, it feels like an early summer here. Its beautiful!
